Now I know it has been a while since my last post. The content of the last post explains why. Time is just not on my side these days. Work has been very busy up until now and when I’m home, there just isn’t much left. So anyways. For those of you who have chastized me for not writing, I’m writing.
Today as I drove down the Boulevard, I looked in my rear view mirror to see my Peanut with her thumb in her mouth and the other fingers straight up covering up her nose, almost poking herself in the eye. She is beginning to do this on a regular basis now which is great because she still refuses to take a pacifier or a bottle. Which is why I’m at work today and not in Birmingham.
Today is our Farm-City Luncheon of which I have worked very hard to prepare. But when one’s baby refuses to take a bottle, and one’s employer won’t let her come with you, one stays behind. Gosh darnit! I’ve received several calls from my boss already today unrelated to the luncheon. I do hope it goes off well, but I am glad that I’m not there.Â
I thought your memory would return after you birthed your baby. Apparently, that is not the case. This month, Joel and I took part in Angel Food Ministries to give it a whirl. We were supposed to meet my other coworkers here at work on Saturday afternoon to distribute it amongst ourselves. Well with all the changes to the plans on Saturday due to the weather, I slap forgot. Didn’t even remember until 9:00 that night when Joel and I were struggling with our freezer freezing up and shutting down the refrigerator. That in and of itself was for the birds. So tomorrow, I will bring a cooler to work and pick up my loot instead, having nothing but a forgetful memory to blame.
Peanut is on the verge of rolling over these days. She is just one shove shy from completing the task. We watched her for about 20 minutes try to do it on Sunday hoping that it would happen while we were home rather than at daycare. This morning, they had her in a crib on her belly. She has yet to flip but as soon as she does she will start taking her naps in a crib rather than in the swings.
Well, we have a crisis in Birmingham that needs my attention. I’ll try to post pictures tonight at home.
